Adán Vallecillo

BIOGRAPHY

Artist (Plastic arts). He studied at the National School of Fine Arts, Tegucigalpa (1995), the School of Plastic Arts, San Juan, Puerto Rico (2000) and BA in Sociology at the National Autonomous University of Honduras (2009). He received a scholarship from the School of Plastic Arts, San Juan, Puerto Rico (2002) and became, right there, an artist in residence (2007).

Among the honors received: first prize, Anthology of Plastic Arts, National Gallery of Art (2007); third prize, Annual Salon of Paintings "Paul Gauguin", Alliance Française (2002), both in Tegucigalpa; honorable acknowledgment, V Central American Biennial of Visual Arts, MARTE Museum, San Salvador (2006). Currently he lives in Santa Lucia, Honduras.

WORK

He started as a sculptor and evolved into hybrid art-painting, installations, object art ... He founded the Artery projects (2000) and the Bunkhouse -La Cuartería- (2002).His main topics; coexistence, alienation; generally, the crisis of humanity and the status of the object in our context.

He has participated in numerous biennials, including Bienal de Pontevedra and Trienal del Caribe (2010), Tenth Biennial of Havana (2009); Istmo Visual Arts Biennial of Central America (2008, 2004, 2002 and 2000, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, respectively), Biennial of Visual Arts of Honduras, Museum of National Identity (2008 and 2006), V Central American Biennial of Visual Arts, Museum MARTE, San Salvador (2006), VII International Biennial of Painting, Cuenca, Ecuador (2001), V Caribbean Biennial, Museum of Modern Art, Santo Domingo (2001).

His works are part of the collections Daros Latin America, Zurich; Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, New York-Caracas; Museum of Contemporary Art and Design and Theoretical Foundation in San Jose, Costa Rica; Museum of Latin American Art, Long Beach, California; Image Factory Art Foundation, Belize City; the Honduran Institute of Inter-American Culture, Tegucigalpa.

Vallecillo has exhibited his work in important exhibitions. His solo exhibitions:
